Mission Statement...
“To provide innovative leadership and direction for the growth and development of Squash in South Australia”.
The Squash Rackets Association of SA Inc. trading as Squash SA is a not for profit organisation governed by a Voluntary Board of Directors.
The Association has been the State representative body for squash in South Australia for over 60 years.
Squash Rackets Association of SA operates two registered businesses:
- Squash SA - the peak body for squash in South Australia is a member of the national body Squash Australia
- Racquets SA - a licensed Club facility at St. Marys.
The Association is striving to raise the profile of squash in South Australia with initiatives such as the purchase of a Glass Show Court (as seen in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 2007 & 2008 Australian Opens)), to show case State and National events and attract World events.
There are 57 Squash Centres operating across South Australia. Collectively the centres maintain a social participation base of approximately 5,000 participants.
Squash SA coordinates a metropolitan pennant competition, which involves more than 100 teams, comprising of approximately 500 members. The pennant competition runs year round over two seasons.
Squash SA’s South Australian Academy of Squash (SAAS) is an Elite High Performance Program, which underpins the Australian Institute of Sport National Squash Program. The SAAS caters for 45-50 high performance athletes.
The SA Masters Squash Association has 250 members whom participate in year round competitions which are run independently to the above Squash SA pennant program.
