OUTDOOR GLASS COURTS AROUND SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Squash SA is now seeking expressions of interest from Local Government Councils and private landowners to partner on the purchase cost and installation of the world’s latest racquet sport facility technology.

Squash SA’s 2025-28 Strategic Plan includes the goal to Improve and increase the number and visibility of quality courts in South Australia. Outdoor squash courts are now durable, inexpensive and an exciting way to add social and health benefits to a community.

With multiple flexible approaches to partnership, varying depending on public visibility and community access, Squash SA is seeking interest form organisations that can offer high visibility space where Squash SA contributes 50%-100% of the purchase and delivery cost.

With Squash now an Olympic sport and participation growing worldwide, we believe that the installation of up to five of these vibrant, accessible courts in greater metropolitan Adelaide will reshape the public perception of our sport in South Australia.

The facts:

Courts cost approximately $100K to purchase and between $10K to $40K to install
Courts last between 5-10 years based on location and usage
One outdoor glass court can support participation to over 200 participants per week
Squash now has an entry level option with a bouncier ball called Squash57 which is similar to sports like Tennis and Padel
Outdoor courts are all weather compatible so squash can be played day or night rain or shine
Squash is played in over 200 countries and very popular as a social activity throughout Asia and Europe
Business models can be provided to turn these outdoor courts into revenue generators
