2025 Spring Pennant Racquetball
Published Tue 09 Dec 2025
The Somerton Squash Centre was the place to be on Monday night as the 2025 Spring Pennant racquetball grand finals lit up the courts. With the venue buzzing, the fridges stocked, and the crowd eager, the atmosphere was set for a thrilling evening of competition.
In the A Grade final, the Adelaide Malibu team, who had finished on top of the ladder, faced off against Campbelltown Gray Matters Legal. First on court was Damian from Malibu against Joe from Campbelltown. Joe proved formidable, taking the match 63–48 with long rallies that played to his strengths. The second match saw Michael from Malibu and Brandon from Campbelltown locked in a tense battle, with Michael scraping through by just a single point. Both players kept the crowd entertained with daring drop shots on a hot night. The final clash brought the number ones together: Zoe for Malibu and Nicholas for Campbelltown. Nicholas dominated from the outset, driving the ball tightly along the backhand wall and securing victory for Campbelltown, along with the premiership title.
Meanwhile, the Racqueteers division delivered its own drama. Campbelltown’s Mike’s Gang, made up of Michael and Jessica, took on Malibu’s duo of Steve and Carol. The format featured two singles matches followed by a doubles contest, with the overall winner decided by total games won. Mike’s Gang proved too strong, cruising to an emphatic 8–1 victory and leaving no doubt about their dominance.
It was a night of fierce rallies, daring shots, and passionate support from the crowd, with Campbelltown emerging as the standout champions of the Spring Pennant.
