Thursday Night 2025 Spring Pennant Grand Finals

It was one of those perfect Adelaide evenings, warm air, buzzing crowd, and the courts at The ARC glowing under the lights. Campbelltown once again played host to grand final night, and the atmosphere promised drama.

State 2 Grand Final: Next Generation vs PAOC’s Kent Town Hotel

The night opened with PAOC’s Kanishk stepping onto the court against Next Gen’s reserve, Lewi. From the very first rally, Kanishk was in control. His drops were razor sharp, his boasts perfectly timed, and Lewi found himself chasing shadows. Though Lewi managed to steal a game, Kanishk’s dominance was clear, and he sealed the match 3–1 to give PAOC the early lead.

Next up was Jaxon for Next Gen, facing PAOC’s Tom. This was a battle of endurance, long rallies, relentless retrieving, and Jaxon throwing himself across the court with spectacular dives. The crowd gasped at his determination, and his effort paid off with a 3–1 win, leveling the score.

The third clash brought Pankaj of Next Gen against PAOC’s Nat. Nat looked sharp, confident, and completely in rhythm. Pankaj struggled to find answers, and Nat swept through in straight games, 3–0, pushing PAOC back into the lead.

That left the final showdown: Next Gen’s powerhouse “Big To” against PAOC’s reserve, Derek. Big To came out firing, precision shots glued to the walls, and quickly surged to a 2–0 lead. Victory seemed within reach for Next Gen. But Derek, calm and determined, clawed his way back. Point by point, he turned the tide, and in a stunning reversal, he snatched the match 3–2. With that, PAOC claimed the State 2 premiership, their bench erupting in celebration.

State 4 Grand Final: Campbelltown Vesuvio’s Pizza vs Flinders University

On Court 5, Campbelltown Vesuvio’s Pizza faced Flinders University in a contest that would go the distance.

The opener saw Justin of Campbelltown take on Robbie from Flinders. Justin struck first, taking the opening game with authority. The second was a marathon, stretching to 24–22, but Justin held firm. With momentum on his side, he closed out the third, winning 3–0 and giving Campbelltown the early advantage.

Then came the battle of the number ones: Michael for Flinders against David for Campbelltown. Both veterans showcased their finest skills , tight drives, clever boasts, and tactical precision. But Michael was simply too strong, sweeping the match 3–0 and evening the score.

The third encounter was a thriller. Campbelltown’s Simon faced the youthful energy of Ben from Flinders. They traded games until it came down to a deciding fifth. Simon, brilliant but weary, held two match points. Yet Ben, fuelled by determination and youth, saved them both and edged the game 16–14. Flinders leapt ahead, 2–1, their supporters roaring.

Everything came down to the final match: Campbelltown’s seasoned Greg against Flinders’ spirited Thomas. Thomas chased every ball with reckless abandon, diving and stretching to keep rallies alive. But Greg’s composure and experience carried him through. He closed the match 3–1, securing Campbelltown the State 4 premiership — by just one game.

Two finals, two unforgettable stories. PAOC’s Kent Town Hotel triumphed in State 2, while Campbelltown Vesuvio’s Pizza edged Flinders in State 4. The ARC was alive with drama, determination, and the kind of squash that makes grand final night legendary.
